sizing
Please click to view our size chart.
Different countries have different sizing. For example, our size 2-4 would be a size 4 in France and a size 2 in New Zealand. So if you have a small 4 year old you should order a size 2-4. The garments are designed to be fitting and the fabric has wonderful stretch and shape retention, but if you are in doubt, order the larger size. We have developed our own sizing guide below to help you choose the garment that will best fits your child. Should you find that you have misjudged the size of the garment, we will be happy to exchange the garments if we have the stock available, for a larger or smaller size in the same style and colour. In this case you will need to return the garments unworn, with the original packaging and labels, and include a note advising us of which size you require, you will need to pay for the return postage, we will pay the postage to return the new sized garment back to you, this offer is available once only per order.
If you require different sizing within a set, please let us know in the comments section of the order form and we will be happy if the stock is available to send you a different size top to pant.
Our size chart has been developed by us because we appreciate the difficulty in measuring a wriggly toddler, or an uncooperative teenager. We suggest that you take a stretchy item of clothing (such as a tee shirt or underwear) that has a fit that you are happy with as a guide. The measurements shown are of our garments lying on a flat surface, not being worn.

care
To keep these fabrics in optimum condition and looking their best the following care is required:
- Do not bundle wet swimwear in towels or with other garments where colors may transfer to your Little Red Fish swimwear.
- Do not leave wet for any length of time (as with all fabrics, mildew may occur).
- If it is going to be some time before you can wash the swimwear, then rinse in cold clean water and roll in a dry towel.
- Do not stretch the fabric apart from putting the garment on and off.
- Try not to do anything to the swimwear that you wouldn’t do with any other white or light colored clothing.
When washing:
- Hand wash gently in clean warm water with a mild detergent and not with other colored or dirty fabrics. DO NOT ALLOW TO SOAK.
- Rinse twice in clean cold water. Gently squeeze out any excess water and leave to dry out of direct sunlight. You can either hang the item or lay it on a white, clean, dry towel.
- DO NOT BLEACH OR USE ANY OXY-ACTION CLEANER OR DETERGENT WITH BLEACH. This will cause the fabric to change color.
- DO NOT TUMBLE DRY, DRY CLEAN OR IRON.
Staining from sunscreens: You may experience some discoloration if certain sunscreen creams come into contact with the fabric. This is quite rare and in most cases will wash out. It is recommended that you test your sunscreen on a white fabric to see if it leaves a yellow residue before using with Little Red Fish swimwear.
Discoloration from sand: You may notice that dark sand gets trapped within the fibers in the fabric causing it to look spotty. All swimwear of this type suffers from this sort of problem. The quickest and simplest way to remedy this is to wait until the swimsuit is dry and then run a fingernail underneath the affected area. This will open the fibers and the sand grains will pop out.
